We had a wonderful turnout for the Feng Shui event this past week.
Thanks to all of you who attended!
So many people requested the recipe for the Asian salad we served at the Feng Shui event that we thought we would share it with everyone!
Feng Shui Salad
serves 4-6
1 head of Napa Cabbage (aka Bok Choy) 1 can mandarin oranges
1/4 C chopped Scallions 1 cup frozen shelled edamame
2 TBL sesame seeds or sunflower seeds} I used a package from Dominicks
1/2 cup toasted slivered almonds that was an Asian salad topping blend
1 pkg original flavor Ramen Noodles (or chicken flavor)
Dressing:
3TBL vinegar 1/2 Cup oil
1/3 tsp salt 1/2 tsp pepper
2 TBL sugar seasoning packet from ramen noodles
Combine all veggies, nuts etc. Mix dressing and toss together. Crumble the ramen noodles and sprinkle over top, or you can toss in.
You can add water chestnuts, bean sprouts, chicken, shrimp, anything Asian.
You can also add some bright green lettuce, like red leaf or romaine, if you want more color.

The carriers on the large rods can be upgraded at no charge to ones with ball bearings. This is ideal for heavy fabrics or extra long panels. If you need long expanses, you can order, for example an 8' right draw and an 8' left draw, and but them. The existing overlap will be enough. A cord draw and a baton draw is available. CDT News Week of April 13-17
As you know, the Hunter Douglas Beginner Class has been rescheduled to Wednesday, April 29 from 10-1. Due to the date change, we have the opportunity to share with you some "Hot Off the Press" news and introductions that were just unveiled this past week at the "Premiers" seminars. There are new products, new pricing, and lots of other changes and additions that you need to know about if you sell Hunter Douglas. In order to accommodate this, the beginning of the session, from 10-11:15 will be new product introductions, geared to EVERYONE, regardless of level of expertise. The remaining time, 11:15-1:00 will be geared to the beginner level.

Vicki and Camille will wrap up the morning with our ever popular presentation "How to Sell Furniture When Your Client Can't Sit On It". We are aiming to be finished by 12:30, but may run longer depending on the number of questions and audience participation.

We received word that, effective immediately, Dinec is reducing their chair and bar stool prices by 20%, and hutch and buffet prices by 10%!!! This is great news for all of us.

CDT News Week of April 6-10
Camille and I would like to take this opportunity to thank our wonderful showroom staff. Not only do they take care of you, they take care of each other, and they take care of Camille and I. We are so very blessed to have such wonderful caring friends to share each day with. We had a staff meeting this evening. They surprised us with a pot luck supper and a beautiful booklet where they all shared how they came to be here at CDT. It was all very touching, until the "guess the baby pictures" game was announced. The sentimental tears turned into tears of laughter. I fear that we have not seen the last of the baby pictures, so stay tuned.

Robert Allen has announced the creation of their ONLINE OUTLET. They are using the internet to reduce their inventory of closeout fabric and trim. Prices are drastically reduced. If you are purchasing a fabric and it is discontinued, you will automatically be directed to the outlet if there is stock listed there. You can also search the outlet directly. You will find a link on the RA website. The outlet is available to both the trade and to the public. You can use your RA account number, and CDT will still receive credit for your sale.

In order to ensure accuracy, you should call CDT before mailing it in, so the office can give you the correct date. It needs to be the date WE SEND IT IN, not the date you sell it. We suggest that you complete the form on behalf of your client.

Attention Larry Laslo fans:
HGTV's "Top Ten" episode that airs this Saturday, April 4 at 8:30 ET (should be 7:30 central, but double check) will feature Larry Laslo's living room, including some of his designs for Robert Allen. It will run again April 11. We received this info from Robert Allen. You might want to check the HGTV website to see when it airs, as it will switch to Tuesday night after the middle of the month.
We will be glued to the TV to see our "pal" Larry!
Repeating what we said last week, don't forget that there are still some great sales happening at CDT. This is the silver lining to the weak economy.

Ferguson Copeland has simplified their price list. As part of this new format there are lots of beautiful new introductions, most notably the new "Style by Choice" collection. This program is similar to the choose-the-arm, choose-the-base programs you are familiar with. However, Ferguson Copeland is all about high style and sophistication, so they are offering 2 new arm styles not seen in any other program at CDT. Shown below are the choices availble. We will have copies of the brochure available at the showroom.
